As part of the Adapt and Grow initiative to provide greater support for mid-career PMETs, the Workforce Singapore (WSG) in collaboration with Supply Chain Asia (SCA) has developed the Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for e-Commerce Supply Chain Professionals.
Launched on 30 August 2017, the PCP for e-Commerce Supply Chain Professionals aims to equip mid-career PMETs with the necessary competencies to take up roles in areas such as Supply Chain & Customer Service, Sourcing & Merchandising Management, Marketplace & Forecasting Management and Warehousing & Fulfilment Operations within the e-Commerce Supply Chain companies.
The duration of the PCP is 1 year, and is a combination of structured On-the-Job Training (OJT) with the hiring company, 15 days of facilitated classroom training and 12 days of mentorship. A unique aspect of this PCP is that a portion of the facilitated classroom training will be conducted within local e-Commerce companies such as Reebonz to allow trainees to better understand the various processes of an e-Commerce Supply Chain operation.
Depending on individual’s performance, PCP participants may be provided with opportunity to progress in their roles to take on more senior positions within the companies upon completion of the programme.
The PCP will help support the rapid growth of the sector by providing an additional pipeline of local talents to meet increasing hiring needs.
Programme Support for Employers
The salary support during the period of training, for employers on board the PCP, will substantially lower their cost of hiring and re-skilling mid-career PMETs.
