To encourage mid-career switch amongst Singaporeans and Permanent Residents into the Senior Services sector, Hua Mei Training Academy (HMTA) is offering the Professional Conversion Programme (PCP) for Eldercare Professionals to equip learners with essential skills and knowledge to support and manage the administration and operations of eldercare organizations. The PCP is comprised of up to 5-month full-time classroom at HMTA and workplace attachment hosted by a Voluntary Welfare Organisation (VWO). Upon successful completion of training, graduands will receive the WSQ Professional Diploma in Community & Social Services (Senior Services) with acquired skills in 18 areas, including 13 core and 5 electives skills. Mid-career jobseekers will be equipped with the necessary skills to take on relevant managerial and executive roles pertaining to centre management, training, volunteer management and programme co-ordination and management in the senior services sector. Candidates will work in various settings or units including dementia, residential (sheltered homes), day care centres, home-based care, hospice or palliative care, institutional care (nursing homes), senior centres and clubs, senior activity centres or neighborhood links, community case management services and counselling services.
