The Assembly & Test (A&T) PCP allows mid-career PMETs to acquire the skills required in the A&T industry and to make a career switch. It is part of the Adapt and Grow initiative, to strengthen the employment support for Singaporeans.
Participants in the A&T PCP will be hired as Engineers or Assistant Engineers, and placed in various stages of the manufacturing workflow such as Product Test, Process, Quality, Equipment, Facility, Industrial, Manufacturing, Package Development. They will undergo up to 6 months of structured training, comprising the A&T Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) modules, structured On-the-Job-Training (OJT) and classroom sessions.
This PCP will lower the companies’ cost of hiring new entrants and reskilling for new jobs by providing salary support during the period of training at 70% of salary capped at $4,000 per month. Enhanced salary support of 90% capped at $6,000 per month will be applicable for Singapore Citizen (SC) Long-Term-Unemployed (LTU) PMETs or mature SC PMETs aged 40 and above.
Successful participants of the PCP for A&T industry may expect a starting salary of $2,000 - $3,000 per month for Assistant Engineer and $3,500 - $5,500 per month for Engineer.
