The DNA Programme is an 18-month programme targeted at new entrants to the industry. The programme aims to provide a structured training plan to develop trainees, thereby providing accelerated learning for new entrants into their assigned job scope and to meet industry hiring needs.
The programme will allow trainees to acquire essential skills in Good Manufacturing Practices, Safety, Continuous Improvement, Manufacturing Technology etc, which will lead to the attainment of 3 Statements of Attainment under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) system issued by WSG. Examples of the modules include but are not limited to the following WSQ Training modules:
The PCP helps to lower the companies’ cost of hiring PMETs by:
Providing course fee support of up to 70% capped at $4,507 per trainee
Providing salary support at 70% of participant’s salary capped at $2,000 per month for the 18-month training period; and
Enhanced salary support of 90% of participant’s salary capped at $4,000 per month for only Singapore Citizen (SC) that are Long-Term-Unemployed (LTU) PMETs (who have been unemployed for more than 6 months) or mature SC PMETs that are aged 40 and above
Successful participants of DNA for Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing sector may expect a starting salary of $1,500 - $3,000 per month.
Applications received would be forwarded to participating employers for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer’s selection process, which is the same as that of a normal job application. The candidate has to be offered employment by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
