The Wafer Fab PCP allows mid-career PMETs to acquire the skills required in the wafer fabrication industry and to make a career switch. It is part of the Adapt and Grow initiative, to strengthen the employment support for Singaporeans.
Under the PCP for Wafer Fabrication Engineer and Assistant Engineer, you will undergo a structured training programme endorsed by Singapore Semiconductor Industry Association (SSIA) to take on your new job role. The training, comprising classroom training and On-the-Job training, will be conducted over 6 months, which will be aligned to the Skills Framework for Electronics.

This PCP will lower the companies’ cost of hiring new entrants and reskilling for new jobs by providing salary support during the period of training at 70% of salary capped at $4,000 per month. Enhanced salary support of 90% capped at $6,000 per month will be applicable for Singapore Citizen (SC) Long-Term Unemployed (LTU) PMETs or mature SC PMETs aged 40 and above.
Successful participants of the PCP for WaferFab industry may expect a starting salary of $2,000 - $3,000 per month for Assistant Engineer and $3,500 - $5,500 per month for Engineer.
Applications received would be forwarded to participating employers for shortlisting. Shortlisted candidates have to go through the participating employer’s selection process, which is the same as that of a normal job application. The candidate has to be offered employment by a participating company before embarking on the programme.
