Join Singapore’s Growing Logistics Sector

17 JAN 2017

With a leading supply chain hub and world-class service providers, our logistics sector has always played a prominent role in our economy. Now, jobs in this sector are quickly becoming a hot commodity, thanks to an uptick in e-commerce sales and the middle class boom in Asia.

The logistics sector is set to grow in the coming five years, with over 2,000 jobs to be created for professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs) alone. Furthermore, the government recently launched its Logistics Industry Transformation Map, which aims to groom and develop Singaporean talent in this sector. Logistics companies today are continuously developing new capabilities and value-added services to stay competitive. Some key services of the industry would include crowd-sourced delivery, e-commerce logistics, reverse logistics, 3D printing and vendor management inventory amongst others. While some services may require specialised skills such as programme management and logistics information systems, occupations requiring skills in sales, customer service, warehouse management and operations are also available within the industry.
