- Self-sponsored trainees may get enhanced support for long-form training
- Training allowance of up to $18,000 per year for full-time training
- Training allowance of up to $3,600 per year for part-time training
Who can qualify?
You can qualify for WSS (Level-Up) if you:
Are a Singapore Citizen;
Are at least 30 years old or older as of 31 December of the work year;
Earn an average gross monthly income1 of not more than $3,000 for the past 12 months;
Have declared your net trade income and made MediSave contributions in full if you are self-employed;
Live in a property with an annual value of $21,000 and below as at 31 December of the preceding year;
Own not more than one property; and
If you are married:
you and your spouse together not own more than one property; and
the assessable income of your spouse does not exceed $70,000 of the preceding Year of Assessment

Supported Courses
A wide range of long-form courses are supported for the WSS (Level-Up), including SkillsFuture Career Transition Programmes, Nitec or Higher Nitec qualifications, Diplomas, Post-Diplomas or undergraduate degrees. Search for courses at the MySkillsFuture Portal.
With effect from 1 Jul 2026, courses with course start dates on and after 1 Jul 2026 that are supported for WSS (Level-Up) and SkillsFuture Mid-Career Training Allowance will no longer be supported for WSS (Basic) Training Allowance and Training Commitment Award for self-sponsored trainees. Please apply for WSS (Level-Up) to receive training allowance for these courses instead.
Receiving Training Allowance
You may receive Training Allowance (TA) for long-form training as follows:
Full-time: 50% of average income over the latest available 12-month period, minimum $300/month
Part-time: $300/month
TA is capped as follows1:
Ages 30 to 39: Up to 24 months2 and up to $1,500 per month
Ages 40 and above: Another 24 months3 and up to $3,000 per month4

You must have PayNow (NRIC) linked to a valid bank account to receive monthly TA disbursements.
No more than one type of wage compensation (i.e., Absentee Payroll (AP), Salary Support (SS) or Training Allowance (TA)) shall be provided for the same period of training by a single individual
1 Both full-time and part-time training will count towards the TA cap of 24 months for each of the 24-month provisions.
2 This 24-month cap for those aged 30-39 expires once you turn 40 based on year of birth.
3 This 24-month cap for those aged 40 and above is shared between WSS (Level-Up) and the SkillsFuture Mid-Career Training Allowance.
4 The WSS (Level-Up) TA for those aged 40 and above is capped at $3,000/month to align with the SkillsFuture Mid-Career Training Allowance.

Applications must be submitted within your WSS eligibility period. You may view your WSS eligibility period here using your Singpass.
1 Open for applications from 9 Feb 2026 for courses starting from 1 Mar 2026 onwards. If your course has already started before 1 Mar 2026, you may still apply, but TA will be accorded only for the remaining duration of your course from 1 Mar 2026 onwards. There will be no back payment of TA for any course period before 1 Mar 2026.
