Eligibility Criteria
As announced in Budget 2025, the Workfare Skills Support (WSS) scheme, which supports lower-wage workers to upgrade their skills, will be enhanced through the launch of WSS (Level Up). WSS (Level Up) will provide eligible workers with financial support to embark on more substantial and longer-term reskilling and upskilling in order to secure better job opportunities. Such long-form training includes Nitec, Diplomas Undergraduate degrees, and SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme courses (full list in table below). Applications will open on 9 February 2026, for training done from 1 March 2026 onwards.
Higher Training Allowance of up to $18,000 Per Year for Long-form Training
WSS (Level-Up) will support lower-wage workers who earn up to $3,000 per month and are aged 30 and above. Eligible self-sponsored trainees who pursue long-form training can receive higher training allowance of up to $18,000 per year for full-time training and $3,600 per year for part-time training.

To support lower-wage workers in their career journey, WSS (Level-Up) will cover multiple periods of long-form training. Trainees can receive support for up to 24 months of long-form training completed before the age of 40, and another 24 months of long-form training from the age of 40.
The existing eligibility criteria for WSS (Basic) will apply for WSS (Level-Up). Please see the full eligibility criteria in Annex A.
