Jobseekers can gain experience through a short-term trial to be assessed for employment paying at least $1,500/month for full time position, $750/month for part-time position, and receive retention incentives.
To help Singaporean jobseekers try out more jobs, including part-time work, the Career Trial scheme has been expanded to include part time jobs offered by employers. This will take effect from 15 May 2019.

Eligible jobseekers can also benefit from the following incentives:
Funding Component
Funding for Singapore Citizen (SC)
Training Allowance for Individuals
$7.50 – $15/hour
Full Time: From 16 hours to 480 hours (up to 3 months)
Part Time: From 16 to 240 hours (capped at 80hrs/month, up to 3 months)
Retention Incentive for Individuals
One-off $500 incentive for jobseekers who stay in the same job for ≥3 months retention
One-off additional $1,000 incentive for jobseekers who stay in the same job for ≥6 months retention (only for unemployed SC who have been actively looking for jobs for 6 months or more)
Note: Eligible jobseekers will not receive CPF contributions as there is no formal employer-employee relationship between the host employer and the jobseekers during the Career Trial. Jobseekers under the Career Trial will be covered by insurance provided by WSG/NTUC’s e2i. Jobseekers are only entitled to the Training Allowance and Retention Incentive under one Career Trial.
All Singapore Citizens who meet the following criteria:
Actively seeking employment on a permanent basis prior to commencing Career Trial
Unemployed before commencing and during Career Trial
At least 16 years old, have completed full-time studies and National Service (if applicable)
Note: Jobseekers must be a registered client of WSG/NTUC’s e2i. For non-registered clients, upon WSG/NTUC’s e2i’s approval of the Jobseekers Detail Form (Form A1), please contact WSG/NTUC’s e2i hotline to register for a Career Trial Experience Review, within one month from the Career Trial commencement.
