Get Enhanced Support from Workfare Skills Support (WSS) (Level-Up)
WSS (Level-Up) supports lower-wage workers in pursuing long-form training that leads to better employment outcomes. Eligible lower-wage workers can get up to $18,000 per year for full-time training or $3,600 per year for part-time training. Applications for WSS (Level‑Up) are open from 9 February 2026.

Who can qualify for WSS (Basic)
To qualify, individual must meet the following criteria:
Singapore Citizen;
At least 30 years old or older as of 31 December of the Work Year, or at least 13 years old for Persons with Special Needs
If the individual is employed,
Earns a gross monthly income of not more than $3,000 for the month worked as an employee
Earns an average gross monthly income1 of not more than $3,000 in the past 12 months as an employee
If the individual is a Self-Employed Person (SEP), s/he must also have declared his/her net trade income2 for and made Medisave contributions in full
Lives in a property with an annual value of $21,000 and below as at 31 December of the preceding year
Owns not more than one property
If married:
Together with spouse, own not more than one property and
Spouse’s assessable income of your spouse does not exceed $70,000 of the preceding Year of Assessment.

WSS (Basic) Training Allowance (TA)
To qualify for training allowance at $6 per hour1 (capped at 180 training hours per WSS eligibility period), individual must:
Have taken course(s) eligible for TA after 1 July 2020;
Complete and pass the course;
Have paid for his/her own training; and
Have PayNow (NRIC) linked to a valid bank account to receive TA disbursements; and
Not be barred from receiving SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) / Workforce Singapore (WSG) / Employment and Employability Institute (e2i) grants.
With effect from 1 Jul 2026, courses with course start dates on and after 1 Jul 2026 that are supported for WSS (Level-Up) and SkillsFuture Mid-Career Training Allowance will no longer be supported for WSS (Basic) Training Allowance. Please apply for WSS (Level-Up) to receive training allowance for these courses instead.

No more than one type of wage compensation (i.e., Absentee Payroll (AP), Salary Support (SS) or Training Allowance (TA)) should be provided for the same period of training by a single individual.
For Employee
If you are employed, your employer will be making regular CPF contributions to your CPF account, and you are not required to apply for TA.
For Self-employed
If you are self-employed and hence do not have regular CPF contributions, you may submit your TA claims online here. All WSS TA claims are to be submitted online within 120 days after your course ends.

The following documents are required for online TA claims submission:
Contract for Service / Agreement dated 3 months from course end date, OR Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA)* business registration
Business transaction document dated 3 months from course end date, e.g. revenue receipt / invoice / sales commission statement / bank transaction / payment screenshot of your services provided dated within three months to prove active employment status.
If all required information is in order and no clarification is needed, the TA will be credited to the trainee’s PayNow‑registered bank account within approximately 2–4 months.
If you have recently changed from self‑employed to employee and are unsure about submitting a TA claim online, or require assistance with your claim, please contact the WSS Hotline at 1800‑536‑8333.
1 From July 2026, TA will increase from $6/hr to $10.50/hr for the self-sponsored LWWs.
WSS (Basic) Training Commitment Award (TCA)
Cash awards are given to encourage eligible workers to undergo sustained training. Trainees will receive:
$1001 for any two of the following, capped at $200 per WSS eligibility period for 4 achievements during the trainee’s eligibility period
WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA)
Academic CET Modular Certificate/ Post-Diploma Certificate
Other certifiable courses supported by SSG
- $800 for Full Qualifications (FQs). FQs are suites of related courses that result in a formal qualification, such as WSQ Qualifications or Academic Continuing Education and Training Qualifications.
There will be an overall TCA cap of $1,000 per WSS Eligibility year.

No application is required. Individuals will be notified of their TCA payment via SMS and/or letter from CPF Board. It may take 1 to 3 months for you to receive the payment.
1 From July 2026, TCA of $100 for achievements (capped at $200 per WSS eligibility period) will no longer be available. Only WSS-eligible trainees who attain FQs are eligible for the TCA award of $800.
WSS (Basic) Absentee Payroll (AP)
Sponsoring employers are eligible for AP at up to 95% of trainee’s basic hourly salary, capped at $13 per hour.
